I am from books
From milk and apples
I am from the white stones and dog fur everywhere
I am from wild flowers
The oak tree whose branches I used to climb
I am from bickering with siblings and wrestling
From George and William
I’m from playing sports and running and from vacations in Michigan
I’m from brush your teeth and no it’s a school night
I’m from Mary had a little lamb
I’m from Christmas
I’m from Austin and America
I’m from spaghetti and steak
From the halls of O’Henry and the class clown
I’m from pictures on the refrigerator
Jack, my parents always say “no it’s a school night.
I really like your blog especially because I can totally relate! Especially the part about saying no on school nights.
I love this poem!
the halls of O’Henry is okay, but the rest of that line???
just kidding
this is a really good poem
